08-2010 Chamber Talk

August 09, 2010

Crooked River Ranch-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce "Chamber Talk" August 2010

As mentioned in the last Chamber Talk, our new website is up and running.  If you have not yet done so, check us out at www.crrchamber.com.  I think you'll be very pleased at what you see.  Additionally, the new CRR-Terrebonne Chamber brochure is completed.  The brochure is designed to promote tourism and visibility for both Crooked River Ranch and Terrebonne... as visitor destinations and to attract new residents... both important in this time of economic challenge.  We are working to place them at appropriate locations. Please phone me if you have a location where you would like to put them... we have lots of brochures available for distribution!  If your travels take you across the State borders into Idaho, California or Washington, and you'd like to drop some off at Visitor Centers, please let me know.

If you have not dropped by the Ranch Information Kiosk recently, please take the time to do so.   With the help of a volunteer youth group, "The Heart Campaign," the information center was cleaned inside and out, weeded and is now much more presentable.  "The Heart Campaign" has been sponsoring community service projects in most areas of Central Oregon.  This effort will culminate in a major event, which will be held on Saturday, September 25th.  Renowned inspirational speaker Nick Vujicic will open the event, which will be followed by a concert by local band, "Elliot."  Special thanks go out to Ranch residents Larry and Gail Day, who worked the entire day, supervising the group and adding their help and support.  Thanks also to your President, Judy La Pora for stepping in at the last minute to help out.  The Ranch maintenance crew will be maintaining the area in the future.  Thanks to everyone for their support.

Mark your calendars for the next Networking Social, which will be held on Thursday, August 19th beginning at 5:30pm.  Sponsored by Vern Sampels Landscaping, the event will be held at the home of Kiley and Carla Sampels at 16412 SW Rainbow Road, located near the entrance of Crooked River Ranch.  You'll have the opportunity to see the fabulous, park like setting that they have created at their home, as well as to visit with friends and associates.  There will be great refreshments and great fun and you'll hear the latest about what's happening with area businesses, your communities and special events.  Admission is free and you do not have to be a Chamber member to attend.  We look forward to seeing you there.

07-2010 Chamber Talk

July 09, 2010

Crooked River Ranch-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce "Chamber Talk" July 2010

As we approach mid summer, your Chamber is moving along with many projects. The Chamber sponsored "Independence Celebration" Parade was a huge success, with a record fifty entries enjoying the opportunity to participate in this wonderful festival.  The Lion's Club Buffalo Feed, Artists and Crafters Bazaar, Mariposa Lily Garden Club Plant Sale, entertainment and the First Annual Lion's Club Barn Dance all came together to create an event that was enjoyed by all. Businesses that participated took advantage of a great opportunity to promote their goods and services to the hundreds of folks who attended these events.
